Hammond Report July 22 2020 From Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond - daily Music and Stories from organist accordionist Jon Hammond, today's story and music about my 1959 Hammond B3 organ with duo session jazz standards with jazz guitarist Bill Wurtzel just before I went in to Pandemic Quarantino - Bill was introduced to me by Andy Christo Vice President of Royal Olympic Cruises who I met while on assignment in Port Everglades FL at the inauguration of the Royal Olympic Voyager, the world's fastest cruise ship 20 years ago. I played with Bill several times at Roth's Steakhouse on the Upper Westside of Manhattan - enjoy and I'll be back tomorrow. Everybody stay safe and mask-up out there! Jon Hammond

Hammond Report July 17 2020 From Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond

My old neighbor John Paul shot this photo - I heard someone say "Hey Jon", I looked around and John shot the photo with a compact film camera he always wore around his neck. About a week later he slid the photograph under the door of my apt. Not long after that I heard very sadly that he died of AIDS. He was a beautiful cat, very nice of him to come down to my humble band gig in front of
SF City Hall
lunch concert - that's Jim Preston on drums to my right, also gone sadly. I'm playing my 1965 Sherman & Clay Hammond B3 Organ + 122 Leslie there -

Hammond Report July 14 2020 From Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond

Hammond Report July 14 2020 From Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond - Music and Stories from organist accordionist Jon Hammond, today this story & music will blow your mind - with actual bandstand recording I made on this very special house band gig I played in 1978 when I was the Hammond B3 organist for the late great Lou Colombo, we were the house band at the Wychmere Harbor Club in Cape Cod - private club, now it's called - we played all the private parties for long-time Speaker of The House, Tip was a member of the club and lived nearby. I played his Daughter Susan O'Neill's wedding, we had Secret Service all over the place - Tip always arrived with his Wife and entourage, some of the Kennedy Clan and his main man always by his side was in a wheelchair, I never found out the man's name (maybe someone out there knows?) - very clean B3 + Leslie I played there nightly - another long-time member of Wychmere Harbor Club I played for very often was Lee Berk founder of , Lee was always real nice to the band, as was Tip! Enjoy this precious audio recording and story folks - very sadly / tragically Lou Colombo was killed just a few days after I went to visit him in Fort Myers FL as he was driving home from his gig at his Daughter's restaurant The Roadhouse - by a 17 year-old driver in a Jeep Wrangler - keep the Spirit folks, and be super careful and safe out there - remember to mask-up during this pandemic, told ya' so!
I'll be back with another Hammond Report tomorrow, Jon Hammond 14th of July 2020 from Pandemic Quarantino
