Hammond Report May 27 2021 From Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond - Daily Music and Stories from the organist & accordionist Jon Hammond, today's music story is about playing a gig over in Hamburg, Germany at the Auster Bar, this clip is a tribute to the late great alto saxophonist Cannonball Adderley, who I saw with his quintet when I was 15 years old. On the band: Joe Berger guitar, Heinz Licihius drums Michael Leuschner trumpet, first time guesting on the band Jonas Schoen-Philbert alto saxophone and yours truly Jon Hammond at the organ. Yesterday was a travel day, and I got an old Nikon Nikkor lens 55mm 3.5 micro like my old one that got broken, real cheap on the internet - having fun playing with another lens in my spare time.

Hammond Report May 25 2021 From Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond - Daily Music and Stories from the organist & accordionist Jon Hammond, today's music story about being back down in LA to play on Hammond extravaganza night at NAMM Show, 2 of the cats didn't show up, Brian Auger and Bill Champlin (listen for story) so I had to go on 1 hr. & 15 mins. early - just before the late great Keith Emerson. We had been upstairs at meet-and-greet just prior and unable to talk with him, Koei Tanaka asked him if he could sit in - he said no. After we played Keith came up to me as we came off the bandstand and said "That was quite funky, I'm not real happy about going on after that." I said, oh c'mon Keith, you're the greatest! I didn't know what he was going through, sadly he took his life March 11, 2016 RIP Keith! Bernard Purdie on the drums, got up and did a little dance he was having so much fun, Joe Berger playing his custom JJ Guitars model guitar - and yours truly Jon Hammond at the B3 Portable organ.
