*NOTE: at one time I had a lot of earlier photos, stuffed in to my brown leather briefcase when I was out on the dusty trail. 

In the middle of the day, on Waverly Place in the Village - parked at a parking meter the briefcase was stolen smash-and-grab.  

That was a hard lesson - perhaps that's why I value my pictures even more today - be careful out there folks, crazy times we are living in!

Jon Hammond is a multifaceted musician, composer, and producer with a rich background in music. Born in Chicago in 1953 and raised in Berkeley, California, Jon started playing accordion at age 9 and went on to become a prominent figure in the music scene. Here's what we know about him:

Early Life and Career

Started playing accordion at 9 and gave his first performance at 11, earning $25.

Played in various bands, including the rock group Hades, which shared a rehearsal space with Quicksilver Messenger Service.

Attended Berklee School of Music in Boston but dropped out to pursue music full-time.

Played with notable musicians, including Eddie Money, and worked as a house organist at the Wychmere Harbor Club in Cape Cod.

Hosted his own TV show, "The Jon Hammond Show," which aired on Manhattan's public station and is now in its 27th year.
