Hammond Report July 8 2021 From Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond - Daily Music and Stories from the organist & accordionist Jon Hammond, today's story about playing an organ trio gig in Bruno's Nightclub aka Bruno's Lounge in San Francisco's Mission District with saxophonist Charles McNeal, Deszon Claiborne drums and yours truly Jon Hammond at the Hammond organ. Funny club, they used to have a mafia bookie operation going upstairs - the phones were still there after they cleared out, I got a little tour of the dusty room where bookies sat - the old Hammond model CV I believe it was, dated back to the early 40's - somebody absconded with the organ & Leslie in the middle of the night, it's no longer there - my tune Pocket Funk, I think the cops came right after this - they were having some problems from the neighbors at the time.
